USS Intrepid Aircraft Carrier, NYC Docks

Dear travel diary;
Today I found myself on the deck of the aircraft carrier, USS Intrepid. This world war two ship has a proud history in the Pacific Theater. Surviving a torpedo attack and two kamikaze planes, she continued her service until decommissioned in 1974. During the attacks of 9/11, the carrier was used as a command post for the FBI.

Since the attacks, the carrier has been converted as an interactive museum. With displays on all levels of the ship, you can easily spend all day looking at everything. My favorites are the planes on the flight deck!
